EC10 TOILET is Evans Vanodine’s newest addition to our e:dose super concentrate range. A powerful, toilet and urinal cleaner descaler, which uses thicken-on-dilution technology.Evans e:dose super concentrate range is an easy to use, colour coded system which offers accurate dosing and low cost in use. The range covers all significant sections of the daily cleaning schedule, including unperfumed kitchen products, a perfumed housekeeping range and heavy duty floorcare. The addition of EC10 TOILET to the range compliments the existing EC9+ WASHROOM, giving users a dedicated toilet cleaner.
EC10 TOILET quickly and effectively removes heavy limescale, soil and body fat. Its thickening system is surfactant based; this not only builds viscosity when diluted but also provides a detergency to improve cleaning and soil removal. This technology demonstrates shear thinning behaviour, meaning the product can be dispensed easily on application. Once on contact with a surface the viscosity recovers, allowing the product to cling to the surface for a longer contact time, maximising cleaning and descaling performance.
EC10 TOILET formulation is based on methane sulphonic acid. This offers a huge environmental advantage over other acids used in this application. Methane sulphonic acid is readily biodegradable and free of phosphorous and nitrogen, minimising the production of phosphates when entering sewage and waterways. Phosphorus and nitrogen are the main nutrients involved in eutrophication, which occurs when there is too much nutrient in open waters, causing excessive growth of algae and plants. This adversely affects the quality of the water and our uses of it, as well as damaging the local ecology.
EC10 TOILET is formulated to be dosed through auto-dosing dispenser systems, into pre-labelled, reusable toilet bottles. This is a safer dilution method, with no manual handling of the concentrated product. The appropriate dispenser metering ensures the correct dilution is achieved, eliminating potential overdosing and chemical wastage. Controlling chemicals is important, not only from a safety point of view but also from a cost in use perspective. Under or overdosing can reduce the efficiency of a product, so the key to consistently accurate dosing is to keep things simple.
Cost in use of EC10 TOILET offers a huge advantage compared to other ready to use toilet cleaners and descalers. Users can expect five x 900ml toilet bottles, compared to the cost of one ready-to-use toilet cleaner bottle, based on a typical 6 x 1 litre pack. Each 2 x 5 litre pack of EC10 TOILET provides a minimum of 294 x 900ml bottles or, for heavy duty dilution, a minimum 166 bottles.
The pre-labelled toilet bottles which complement EC10 TOILET are designed to be refilled and reused, just like the corresponding spray bottles for the rest of the range. This helps to reduce plastic and packaging waste, transport emissions and carbon footprint, due to diluting chemicals at the point of use and sourcing water locally. This makes e:dose an ideal choice for our environmentally conscious society, compared with ready to use chemicals.
Evans carried out a series of benchmarking studies, to compare the descaling performance of EC10 TOILET to other toilet cleaners/descalers. The mass loss of calcium carbonate was determined over time, using calcium carbonate chips. The results offer a significant performance improvement when using EC10 TOILET in comparison to two ready-to-use toilet cleaner and descalers, A and B in the study. EC10 TOILET also has a lower level of acid upon application compared to products A and B. You can view more about the technology HERE.
